Leander Achievements 2024

Leander, Texas, a vibrant city in the heart of the Lone Star State, continues to flourish under the visionary leadership of its City Council and City Manager who have been instrumental in steering the city toward a prosperous future.  City Manager Todd Parton, who assumed his role in April 2024, brings over 19 years of experience in city management, further bolstering Leander’s seamless growth potential.

A testament to Leander’s commitment to economic development is the Crystal Springs Development, which has both the space and potential to become a community hotspot with the addition of Southside BBQ and Culver’s.  These establishments not only diversify dining options but also create local employment opportunities, enhancing the city’s economic landscape.

In May 2024, Leander broke ground on the much-anticipated Senior Activity Center, a project that had been in the planning stages since 2011.  This center is set to become a hub for community engagement, offering amenities such as a lobby with a seating area, a library with a coffee café, a game room, multipurpose rooms, a fitness center, and a commercial kitchen.  Construction is expected to be completed by early 2025, providing a dedicated space for seniors to connect and thrive.

Addressing the city’s water infrastructure, the Deep Water Intake project has been a significant undertaking. Completed in early 2024, this project involved replacing approximately 1,400 feet of a 36-inch underwater pipeline that distributes treated water to Leander, Round Rock, and Cedar Park. The repair enhances water reliability and capacity, ensuring a stable water supply for the growing population.

Another milestone in Leander’s economic development is the Titan Warehouse Development. This project is set to boost the local economy by attracting businesses and creating job opportunities, further solidifying Leander’s position as a thriving economic hub.

These achievements reflect the city’s invigorated dedication to fostering economic growth and enhancing the quality of life for its residents. Under the guidance of the City Council and City Manager Todd Parton, Leander continues to evolve, embracing progress while maintaining its unique charm. The future holds great promise for this dynamic community, as it builds upon these successes to create a prosperous environment for all.
